Everything You Need to Know Before Booking
Planning an event comes with a lot of questions. Below you’ll find clear answers to the most common questions couples and clients ask before booking The SoundMan DJ Services.
In the Okanagan—especially in Kelowna and surrounding areas—wedding dates book up quickly, particularly during peak season (May through September).
Here’s a general guideline:
12–18 months in advance – Ideal for prime summer Saturdays and long weekends
9–12 months in advance – Recommended for most weddings
6 months or less – Possible for off-peak dates (October–April) or Fridays/Sundays, depending on availability
The Okanagan is a destination wedding hotspot, and many couples secure their venue first—often at popular locations like CedarCreek Estate Winery, Summerhill Pyramid Winery, or Hotel Eldorado—then book their DJ shortly after to lock in their date.
If your wedding falls on:
A Saturday in July or August
A long weekend
A popular venue date
…it’s best to inquire as soon as you have your venue secured.
Even if your wedding is coming up sooner, it’s always worth reaching out. If I’m available, I’m happy to help make your celebration unforgettable.
Securing your date is simple and straightforward.
Once you’re ready to move forward, you’ll receive a digital service agreement outlining all the details of your event. After reviewing and signing the contract, a 50% refundable deposit is required to officially reserve and finalize your date.
Because popular wedding dates in Kelowna and across the Okanagan book quickly—especially during peak season—your event date is only secured once both the signed agreement and deposit are received.
If you have any questions before signing, I’m always happy to walk you through everything so you feel confident and excited moving forward!
I understand that sometimes plans change, and I aim to handle cancellations with clarity, fairness, and professionalism.
Here is my cancellation policy:
Deposit refunds are available up to 90 days prior to your event date.
If you need to change your event date, I will transfer your booking to a new date at no additional charge, provided the new date is available.
Your deposit is fully refundable if your event cannot proceed due to a community-wide health order or restriction and rescheduling is not possible.
Your deposit is also fully refundable in the event of a documented health emergency.
My goal is to provide peace of mind while also protecting the time and preparation dedicated to your event. If any concerns arise, open communication is always welcome, and I’ll work with you to find the best possible solution.
